Red Spruce Orphaned Soundboard Material
This listing is for one piece of orphaned lower grade Red Spruce soundboard material. These are offcuts, so, there will not be any bookmatch material. The dimensions and grain count will vary. Some are thick, some are thinner. There can be defects such as knot, worm holes, stains, edge cracks, ect.
This listing is not for custom order material. I will select the ordered quantity from the pile and ship.
Measurements - No specific specific measurements. The material I have currently ranges from .120" - .400" thick. Some boards are not rectangular.
Suitable applications - Back strips, craftwood, repair material, ect. Creative minds may find other applications.
“Adirondack” Red Spruce (Picea Rubens) is a tonewood that can produce a strong clear tone with complexity at all volume levels. This wood is harder to acquire than other material and the grading allows for more variation and color than other species. It is a highly sought after wood that has been used for years with great success. Many vintage guitars have this wood as a soundboard.
These measurements are my minimum tolerance so the wood you get could, but not always, be on the larger side. If you need specific measurements, that will need to be worked out before shipping. Not all sets are sanded, therefore, there will be some saw marks from the milling process. Additional sanding will need to be done by the buyer.
