#2/B Grade Sitka Spruce Soundboard (Patterned for a Dreadnought)

"#2/B" GRADE sets can have any or all of the following: Pitch Pockets, Whisker knots, Stains, Irregular grain, runout, winter growth lines, uneven color, curved grain, twist, blue stains, defects. This grade allows defects in the pattern area that may not be normally seen in other grades and can have uneven outer edges making them not a true rectangle due to cracking, knots, ect. Structurally these are good soundboards that just cannot make it into another grade.
Sitka Spruce is a great soundboard material. It is probably one of the most popular soundboard materials on acoustic guitars. It is very stiff and ranges in color from white to a light pink. Well quartered sets will display beautiful medullary rays.
2 pieces - .140+" x 8 1/8+" x 21+" - This grade allows defects in the template. The boards may have uneven edges due to knots, cracks, and splitting which causes them to not be a true rectangle shape. This can be seen in the pictures.
These measurements are my minimum tolerance so the wood you get could, but not always, be on the larger side. If you need specific measurements, that will need to be worked out before shipping. Not all sets are sanded, therefore, there will be some saw marks from the milling process. Additional sanding will need to be done by the buyer.
