"B" Grade Sitka Spruce Soundboard (Patterned for a Dreadnought)
This listing is for one book matched "B" grade soundboard patterned for a dreadnought guitar. The pictures are for representation of the grade and are not the actual boards you will receive. "B" GRADE sets can have any or all of the following: Stains, Irregular grain, runout, winter growth lines, uneven color, curved grain, blue stains. These sets can have uneven outer edges making them not a true rectangle due to cracking, knots, ect. Structurally these are good soundboards that just cannot make it into another grade.
Sitka Spruce is a great soundboard material. It is probably one of the most popular soundboard materials on acoustic guitars. It is very stiff and ranges in color from white to a light pink. Well quartered sets will display beautiful medullary rays.
2 pieces - .150+" x 8 1/8+" x 21+" - These sets will have excess color, stains, and uneven color. The boards may have uneven edges due to knots, cracks, and splitting which causes them to not be a true rectangle shape. This can be seen in the pictures.
These measurements are my minimum tolerance so the wood you get could, but not always, be on the larger side. If you need specific measurements, that will need to be worked out before shipping. Not all sets are sanded, therefore, there will be some saw marks from the milling process. Additional sanding will need to be done by the buyer.
